Isaaf Fikri Chaker

Isaaf Chaker a Lebanese was born on the 16 May 1942 in Rachay Al Wadi (Bekaa) while her father was on duty serving his country during the battle of Independence.

He named her Issaaf feeling optimistic as he got a promotion that same day.
Issaaf spend her childhood years in Zahle the country of her mother's Mrs. Mounira El Debs (Born in Deir El Gazal, Bekaa) her native village.

Her father was born in Mardin (Now under the occupation of Turkey).
He was the son of Dr. Chamoun Chaker and he is the nephew of his Holiness, Patriarch of Antakia at the east Mar Elias III layed to rest in Omalor Malankara, south of India 1932 was beatified in 1982.

Her father Fikri arrived in Lebanon as an infant accompanying his mother. Fleeing the slaughters and massacres by the Turks. That took away the lives of over 100000 of the Syriac Nationals.
Issaaf have 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Her spirituality courage and determination to change things led her to rebel against old a stale habits (that had negative effects on her childhood), and left her searching for the truth and seeking human justice.

This led her to be active in social, patriotic, and political activities.
Being truthful with herself and others are of her strictest believes.

She got married at the age of 18 to a second generation Lebanese emigrant Victor Fakhoury moved to Trinidad and Tobago, with her husband in the Caribbean's, she gave birth to 2 sons and one daughter.
She is separated from her husband and lives in her beloved country, Lebanon.
